What is the thing you enjoy hoovering most. That is, what is the situation where it isn't a total pain to pull out the hoover? Dirty jokes and Dyson aside, I love hoovering spilled sugar, salt, cereals, sand... any powdered substance really.
Why? Because I find the sound it makes going up the hose quite satisfying; as opposed to hoovering hair or invisible elements. When you pass the hoover in your flat's entrance after a walk on the beach, you can hear the dust.
You get immediate feedback at the periphery of your attention that tells you that your action is bringing in results; and surely, the noisier the dust, the more satisfying! Sparkles in my eyes, deep breath, bouwahahaaa, Victory Is Mine!
I couldn't care less to see the dust actually... First of all, if this is supposed to give me feedback on the efficiency of my hoovering, well, I see it rather as an indication that in about two minutes the transparent bucket will be so full that I'll have to empty it again (and I don't own a Dyson, so it's also a pain)... Second of all, I never remember to look at the reservoir before starting hoovering, so I can never make a before/after comparison.
Seriously, there is some good fun to be had there, couldn't hoover manufacturers implement a feature in their hoovers that would address this... disease of mine? ;-)
Could we call this noisy Calm Technology?
